INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING UPDATES
**NOTE: Do not install this update on CrimiNet Version 3 or lower. If you are unsure what version you have follow the instructions below:
To find the version of CrimiNet you are running:
1.Run criminet from the icon on your desktop or Start Menu.
2.Click Help from the top menu and then click About Criminet.
3.The Product Version should read "4.0.0" or higher.
Instructions for Downloading and installing Version 4 Update:
1. Click the link labeled "Download Version 4 Update"
2. When prompted, save the file to your hard drive. Remember where you saved it. It is small enough to fit on a floppy disk if you do not have internet on all of your Criminet terminals.
3. This update must be run on all Criminet terminals.
4. To run this update you MUST have local Administrator rights on your Computer.
5. Close Criminet before running this Update. If you close Criminet and it reopens automatically, click the START button, then click RUN. In the RUN box type CMD and click OK or press ENTER. In the Window that opens (black background with white text) type NET STOP CRIMINET. You should see a message that says the FireDaemon Criminet service has stopped successfully. Minimize the black window with white text, you will need it later.
6. Double click on the Update.exe. Follow the on screen instructions.
7. When you see this screen:
It must look exactly like this. If it has anything other than C:\Program Files\CrimiNet. then change the field text to read C:\Program Files\CrimiNet. Click NEXT to continue and follow the on screen instructions.
8. This update only installs new forms, fields, and lists it does not update the software. It only works on Version 4 or higher.
VERSION 2 to 3
